AXIS is an intersection where light, the universe, humans, and microorganisms exist, creating an energetic synthesis. Experiencing the micro, macro, and human scale simultaneously, through light and biology. Showcasing the process and experimental procedures conducted during the ongoing research project Terras Lux by interdisciplinary artist Audrey Rangel Aguirre started in 2020.
The interactions with the public took place at Hackney Wick, London, where the participants who came to the gallery could experience the installation as a multiscale journey into notions of microbiology and biotechnology, seen through the perspective of philosophy and artistic intuition.
The installation was exhibited from the 2nd of May till the 26th of June 2023 at The Not For Sale Gallery as part of the international exhibition Light is Life, curated by Alexa Muen, showcasing work by artists: Chila Burman, Malgosia Stepnik, Jason Yung, Raymond Essayan, Leticia Maldonado, Alexa Muen and Audrey Rangel Aguirre.

The engagement with the audience and active participation as part of the artwork enables art installations with another function where participatory experiences are the most important goal of the piece. Giving agency to the public through active participation is the purpose of art , give the people what is their right: to be participants of the construction of the societies of the future though empowerment of the societies of the present times.
